What I am fighting for in the State Budget

What I am fighting for in the State Budget
With the state budget just around the corner, I’m fighting for one simple principle: Waterford families deserve their fair share.
That means funding Logan Hospital properly, so it can keep up with our growing community. Labor committed to a major expansion while in government, and I’ll be holding the current government to account to deliver every cent.
I’m also calling on the LNP to come clean on FairPlay vouchers. These vouchers helped more than 200,000 kids across Queensland get involved in sport - helping with everything from registration fees to uniforms.
Tony, a coach and parent from the Beenleigh Buffalos, told me just how much they’ve meant to his club and to the kids who’d otherwise miss out. FairPlay vouchers are just a help they’re a lifeline. Coaches like Tony see the difference that sport makes every week: kids building confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging.
It’s a real shame the new LNP government won’t say where they stand on this.
In a cost-of-living crisis, this silence speaks volumes. It’s the same story with power bills, housing, and groceries - families are doing it tough and we need real relief now.
Budget season is a test of priorities. Will the LNP deliver for Logan families or will we see the essentials go underfunded?
As your local MP, I’ll keep fighting for the services and support our community needs and deserves.
